Hopes Beyond IIT

Students of 10+2 mathematics are crazy about IIT. May be you are one of them too who desperately want to be a part of IIT. But, let me tell you. There is life other than IIT which can be as good as a life with IIT.

Here, I’m giving list of some institutes which can be said as alternative for IIT. This list covers those institutes where students of PCM 12th pass can apply. Some of these are very much around or better than IIT. Have a look:

  1. SCRA:
Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) aka Railway Engineering is an examination conducted by UPSC for selecting candidates suitable for engineering department of Railway. It is a very royal job with large prospects. It is also the toughest exam at 10+2 level. There are just around 10 vacancies each year. Still lot of people sits for its exam. Also, your salary will start just after passing this exam. It is the dream course.
  2. ISI:
Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is a very old institute of mathematics, statistics, economics and computer science. It is best institute in India for Statistics and Mathematics and second best for Economics (after DSE). The pass-outs from this institute are very much in demand all over world. Placements are better than even IIMs. Above all there are no fees. Instead handsome stipends each month are given to the students. This in my sense is best alternative for IIT. Obviously, many students come to this institute after getting top ranks in IIT JEE. Some leave IIT after getting top ten ranks for ISI.
  3. CA:
For mathematics branch students, CA is not the prime choice. Those who opt for CA after 10+2 with mathematics basically, if they don’t get selected somewhere for engineering. But, CA should not be just seen as a degree for commerce students. Mathematics students have high chances to do better in this course. CA aka Chartered accountant is the high earning job. You may work in a company or set-up your own company for auditing accounts. It is just like law. Every company needs service from a CA. As economy is booming and CA course is tough. This sector will be in more demand than else.
  4. Actuarial:
Actuarial is something very much of same nature as CA. But, have more importance than CA. In India this course is conducted by India Actuarial Society. It is a new field in India. But, demands are very high all over world, not just in India. This course is not for everyone. Only sharp minded people are taken for this course. Basic requirement is mathematics as a subject in 12th with 75% for 10+2 students. 75% marks in mathematics just say the requirement needed for being an actuarial. The most important point, you may study for other course with this. Like engineering or graduation. In fact, if some of your course match with the course of Actuarial. You don’t have to write the exam twice. Your regular course marks are accepted by Actuarial society.
  5. NID:
National Institute of Design (NID) is not a very common name among general students. But, it is a very popular name among those who know even a little about design, graphics or creativity courses in India. This is the best institute to learn about designing. One may just think the need of the students from this institute in market.
  6. NDA:
National Defense Academy (NDA) is a very popular exam at 10+2 level. But, popularity of engineering has lowered the no. of quality students for this exam. Yeah, through this exam you may not earn handsome money after NDA. Also, course is physically a bit tough. But, yeah, the proud to be a soldier of India can never be compared with money. Students now a day seek fun and entertainment during course. That fun is not here. But, still here you will get adventure, high esteem and position in society. Pay is not good. But, perks are good. Overall, those who don’t want to traditional, boring corporate jobs can join Indian Army through this course.
  7. NIFT:
National institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a popular brand name. The course here attracts those who want to go in glamor life. No doubt this course needs creativity. Without creativity, you may not perform well. But, yeah this is a high paying and booming sector in India.
  8. NLSIU:
National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is the best institute in India for Law. As economically, India is developing rapidly. Lots of MNCs are coming each year in India. All of them need law personnel. But, students in India are crazy about engineering and management. Other courses don’t get the best quality. So is the case with NLSIU. Students getting here are good but not the best. So, exam is easy to crack with little effort. But, the money after this course is very good.
  9. IIIT:
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) is a project of Indian government to satisfy the demand of IT professionals in India with quality candidates. Courses here are mainly related to IT or computer science. Seats are few in number. But, competition is not as much as for IIT. Some of IIT conduct separate exam. Some take students from AIEEE. This is best course for computer related if you don’t get selected in IITs or few NITs.
  10. NIT:
National Institute of Technology (NIT) is institutes which were earlier known as Regional Engineering College. These colleges are good, reputed, and old and get good placements too. Earlier, students get admission in these colleges via state engineering examination. Students were not evenly balanced in sort of quality than sorting on the basis of state. Also, as students can’t aim at these institutes directly. Hence, these colleges could not make such a reputation as an IIT. These are premier institutes but not the popular ones. These institutes have infrastructure and all sort of facility to produce best engineers. But, they don’t get the best students.
  11. CMI:
Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) is one of the best institutes in India for Mathematics and Physics. This institute has gained much reputation in very less time. No doubt for research preference this could be on top of your list.
  12. NSHM:
(NSHM) is the best institute in India for Hotel and Hospitability management. This institute gives you high prospect for success with growing demands of Hospitability in India.
  13. Merchant Navy:
Merchant navy is a high paying job. It is course for become a crew member of a ship. The best institute in this field is TS Chanakya which takes students through IIT JEE. But, it has a separate selection process. Other institutes of Merchant Navy also have the same prospect. No doubt if you want to earn real money, Merchant navy should be the best choice.
  14. IISER/NISER:
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) and National Institute of Science Education Research (NISER) is a project of government to satisfy the scientist need of India. This is a full government funded institutes. You will get handsome stipends to study here. Future prospect is also good. Students from here can easily get admissions anywhere in the world for higher education. Also, prospect in India is good. Scientist are in demand everywhere. Government is thinking to open research gates for private owners in India. So, students from these institutes will be in High demand in near future.
  15. Aeronautics:
Aeronautics is a high paying field. In India, this sector is on boom and is expected to need three fold more professionals in coming 10 years. Best institute to get in this field is some IIT where this course is taught. Like IIT Kanpur. But, there are other institutes too who can give same prospects as aeronautics from IITs. These are IIA Group of Institutions. Know more about it here.

On the whole, if you look closely at the list above. These are the best institutes of their respective fields. Hence, we could conclude easily each field which have high prospect can come in the list above.

Also, Keep this in mind nearly every field is open for mathematics students (except medical). So, not just IIT should be your prime stop. You may go to any of these and become successful. Some will give you high reputation and some will give you high money. Some even both. But, try to think beyond IITs. There are hopes beyond IIT.

Note: I’ll give detail about all these exam in coming future. The details will cover all aspect institute by institute for each class. Stay in touch.

Role of Coachings in IIT JEE selection

Indian Institute of technology (IIT) are the most prestigious institutes of India. It’s the dream of every science students to study at IIT. One may get admission at any IIT after clearing a test organised by the all the IITs. It’s called IIT JEE. As there are many students dreaming to study at IIT or be an IITian. The competition is very tough to clear. Almost 350,000 students each year appear in IIT JEE. Out of which nearly 10000 students are selected. We can find coaching institutes every where which helps students to clear IIT JEE. It is a fact that coaching institutes for IIT JEE are more than double in number of total students selected in IIT JEE. So, the question arises naturally. Are these coaching institutes play any role in the selection for IIT JEE?

Coaching institutes for IIT JEE can be found at almost every corner of street in every town of India. Size and strength of students vary at these places. But, all have same purpose to give students guidance for clearing IIT JEE. No doubt many fail to produce even a single IITian in lifetime. A large number of these institutes teach without proper procedure. There are very kind of institutes. Institutes operating with one teacher and one classroom to institutes with branches in every part of the country. Tuition fees in these institutes also vary from institutes to institutes and city to city. We can say it is a business. Apart from collecting taxes from these institutes, government play no role to monitor the benefits of the students. There are no regulations at all. Any one can teach or cheat students with the dream to be future IITian. Let us see the role of coaching institutes in IIT JEE preparation.

We will discuss here role of various types of coaching institutes for various types of students. We will not excluding the dullest students from our group of students. As they are no where around IIT JEE. They should not waste their time for IIT JEE.

1. Big Institutes

In this category, we will discuss about institute which are well-known in every part of India. These institutes have branches in various city. They send a lot of students to IIT each year. Some well-known names are FIITJEE, Brilliant Tutorials (BT), Bansal Classes, Vidya Mandir, Apex Academy, Narayana, Chaitanya, Career Point, Resonance and Akash. These are some of the well-known names. FIITJEE, BT and Bansal Classes stands in front this row. They are renowned institutes which have given the most students to IIT. So, how does they help students to clear IIT JEE. Does they give them a syrup or tonic to drink or eat. No, they don’t. Let’s discuss how they give such a great results year after year.

BT and Bansal are old very institutes. They started and develop the coaching system for IIT JEE. One more name come in the list, Agrawal Classes. These institute since 80′s are teaching for IIT JEE. They develop a study material on the basis of 10th syllabus which could help the student to grasp the concept needed in the IIT JEE exam. In the beginning there were not many names in the market. So, it was easy for them to get quality students and guide them. As the quality students are with them. They produced good results each year.

Currently, these institutes recruit best teachers to guide the students along with good study material. They organize tests and doubt clearance session regularly. Also, they give students bunch of questions to solve after every concept is discussed. Institute concentrate on more and more practice and doubt clearance. On an average, in these institutes students solve 3-4 times more questions than in regular studies. So, by constant practice and doubt clearance, students gain pace and accuracy. This helps them to clear IIT JEE. They don’t have to think a lot about preparation strategy and other tension. Institutes generally take care of every problem. The institute’s think tank keeps a keen eye on the process which help the student in selection. As the institute have money power. They spend it to test their methods and improve if needed to change. They have the best team of teachers. They generally get early signs of changes that could be possible in coming IIT JEE exam. Overall, their methods helps students to develop a bit. No doubt.

Lets see how in the present time these big institutes are for different IQ level students. For IIT JEE, lets see students with intelligence level as intelligent, average, below average and dullest. As we have said earlier we will not discuss about dullest students.

A. Intelligent Students:

These students are those who have the highest chance to be an IITian. In any class of 50, one may find 5-10 students from this category. They are born intelligent and many are laborious too. By proper guidance of these institutes. These people develop themselves to solve the toughest and trickiest questions with ease. They secure high ranks with the help of these institutes.

B. Average Students:

Students in this category are mainly those who are either laborious but not intelligent else intelligent but not laborious. Also, those who are a bit of both intelligent and laborious come in this sections. These students need encouragement and proper guidance to make it to IIT. These institutes give them lots of question to solve. By the practice, environment and luck many students of this group with lower ranks make their way to IIT. Yeah luck is also a factor for them to clear IIT JEE. Even slight mistake in the preparation could cost them an IIT seat.

C. Below Average Students:

This category of students too gets some benefit from these institutes. They are not IIT material. Also, not much good for low-level exams. But, these institutes with lots of practice to them, helps them to clear regional exams. That’s high achievement for them.

Remember, I’ve pointed out that in every aspect these institutes are beneficial for the students. Then, why not every students take admission in these institutes. The reason is simple. They are very much costly too. Yeah, these institutes have a very high fees. Not possible for every one to pay in a country like us. They have full AC class rooms. Their high paying teachers can’t teach in non-AC class rooms. Also, many students who study there are AC addicted. So, they have to keep up an AC environment. Even in some circumstance they give scholarship to poor students. That’s few and selected students. That can’t help everyone. So,lower middle class students who are the most in numbers go for other sort of low fees or local institutes .

2. Local Institutes

By local institute, I mean those institutes which are popular but just in few towns. Like Paradise Institute, Nutan Institute in Patna; Prerna Classes in Tatanagar; JSR Classes in Varanashi; Bakliwal Tutorials in Pune. Every city or town have many such institute which are popular locally. Some them who have big business and some have just. They generally don’t have a regular think tank team to develop strategy. Administration is just in hand of one or two people who are teachers too. Not all but some of them provided printed study material. But, they usually don’t organize weekly test. Daily question’s hand outs. Yeah some of them do. Teachers in these institutes are almost all good. But, due to lack of strategy. They don’t work out as a team.

Lets see how they give benefit to the students.

A. Intelligent Students:

They have the best chance to get in IIT. But, due to lack of strategy and practice. They don’t make it to top ranks in IIT JEE. If we look at the selection every year in IIT. In top 200 these institutes have very less share. Instead of the fact that they are much more in numbers. The reason is simple they lack to develop students. Those who gets selected are due to just guidance and intelligence. Some of them who get right teachers and are extra laborious with intelligence make it to top ranks. But, still all this combination can be replaced with a common word Luck. If the student is lucky they make it to top 100 or 200. Else generally, they fill higher ranks of IIT JEE.

B. Average Students:

Usually average students from these institutes fail to clear IIT JEE. They clear other exams. But, IIT looks far from their reach from such institute. Reason can be seen clearly. There is not a strong administration who have plans for everyone. Institute give no guidance to teacher to take care of everyone. Teachers too like to be more around the sharp brain. They give less extra time for clearing various doubts of these kind of students. With doubts in their mind these students fail to solve the tricky questions of IIT JEE. Many of them secure ranks in regional or other exams.

C. Below Average Students:

Students in this category hardly make any impact in competitive exams from these institutes. Some of the lucky ones gets selected in regional exams.

3. Subject based Tuition

This is the category in which comes subject specific teacher. Institute which teach only one subjects. Actually, these institutes are run by a single teacher. As one single can’t teach all the three subjects. Some even teach sub-subject specific . Mainly, we see them in Chemistry. Teachers who teach Organic avoid inorganic. Some time they just teach organic. Sometime they teach all, but focus only on one of the favorite.

This is the most clustered category of all. Most number of misguided students study in this category. There is no one who makes strategy for them. The teachers take care of just their subject. As there is no coördination between other subject’s teachers. It’s very hard to study inter-related concept. Especially, those portions of Chemistry and Physics which depends on Mathematics. Also, students face timing problem. They have to adjust the time schedule for all three subjects. Not just that, as the classes of each subject have different teacher. They have to run from one place to other for classes. This exhausts the students. Also, it kills valuable time. Sometimes, tiredness causes losing interest in study.

This method of coaching is no doubt beneficial if we consider money. But, else success only depends on luck. It is most widely faced problem. Not all three subjects teacher are liked by the students. For IIT JEE, all three part should be balanced. So, even though one finds best teacher for Math. There is no chance of success, if one can’t find good teacher for Physics and Chemistry too.

The quality of education system is most damaged by this category. Any one who wants to teach for IIT JEE can open institute and misguide others. It is true that the best teachers of India teach through this system. But, it is also true that the number of worst teacher is more than good ones. So, students gets exploited in this system most.

Lets see how this group affects students:

A. Intelligent Students:

All depends on luck. If luck helps and students gets tension free, good teachers in every subject, students can clear JEE. But, that’s the rarest case. Only few are lucky to get all three teachers good. If the student is most brilliant one then only nothing can stop him to get selected. Else miserable chance of selection. Yeah students get selected in various regional or other exams. But, IIT is far from them. Also, one more important point, there is very less hope to get good ranks in IIT JEE. There is no good practice for the students. Some teachers try to give more and more practice, rest is miserable.

B. Average students:

If luck is not with the student very little hope. Even if luck is with students that they get all three good teachers. Almost no hope for IIT JEE. Just a bit hope for regional level exams.

C. Below average students:

Very less chance for these students to get any thing from this system of coaching.

4. Institutes in Kota, Rajasthan

I have discussed about these institutes in detail in my last post. Click Here.

Remarks:

  • It should be you who should decide in which category of student you come.
  • All above is bullshit, if one is laborious and works hard. Laborious and hard-working student can change all the law. So, be laborious nothing will matter much.

Most Suitable Date for JEE (Main) Online Test

You must be knowing, the name of one of the most popular exam in India, AIEEE has been renamed this year to JEE (Main). The pattern for the exam is same. However, the importance of exam has changed a lot. You may read more about the whole exam JEE in my post What is JEE 2013?

how to choose a suitable date for JEE (Main)

Choose Your Date Wisely

AIEEE had introduced option to give the exam either online or offline (paper-pencil based) in 2010. There are various benefits of giving the test online. Like:

  • One can review and change the answer at any point of time
  • The above process can be done numerous number of times
  • No. of questions attempted or unattempted could be find instantly
  • Tougher or tricky questions could be marked for review later
  • Equal time is alloted to everyone
  • No disturbance during the exam for paper work
  • Don’t need any strategy for circling the answer with pencil
  • Flexibility to choose the exam date
  • It will save Rs. 300

If someone is comfortable with computers and can sit in front of computer screen for 3 hours continuously. It is strongly recommended to go for Online Test.

Now, I’m coming to the main point of this article. How to choose the most suitable date for JEE (Main) online test?

The answer to this question is not so easy. It will differ based on your willingness to appear for JEE (Advanced).

Date Selection

JEE (Advanced) is going to be conducted on 2nd June, 2013. JEE (Main) online test is scheduled between 8th April, 2013 to 25th April, 2013. If someone is appearing for JEE (Advanced), he needs more time for JEE (Advanced) preparation. Hence, he need to appear on the earliest suitable date for the exam. Keep no confusion, the bar of 150,000 students eligibility is not at all a test for the students who are serious for JEE (Advanced). So, don’t even think that you need good amount of time to be in top 150,000 students eligible to write JEE (Advanced). If you can’t get top 150,000 for JEE (Main), don’t waste your time for JEE (Advanced).

However, if someone is just going to appear for JEE (Main), not for JEE (Advanced), he need to choose the latest date of all. So, that he could concentrate well for both 12th board and JEE (Main).

Now, if you are willing to write JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). Don’t go for the First Day First Show. On the first two days there are chances of technical hitches during the exam. The invigilators and engineers at the test center try to familiarize themselves with the whole system of online test. Till the third day, the ambiance of test center becomes normal. Chances of hitches becomes quite less. Hence, it is recommended to choose the third day, 10th April, 2013 as your date for Online Test. However, this date is most suitable for morning slot. If you are willing to take the test in 2nd half, then go for 9th April, 2012 afternoon slot. Chances are very less of any technical problem on the second day afternoon slot. I will discuss about slot selection later.

If you are planning to appear for only JEE (Main) and you have to appear for 12th board also then choose latest dates viz 23rd or 24th April, 2013. This will give you a healthy gap for utmost preparation for JEE (Main). Plus, the pressure on your mind will be less. I didn’t recommended the last date as the invigilators would be taking this day lightly just as last working day before holidays. Remember, they would be busy with the exam for last 13 days continuously with two shifts of exams every day.

Slot Selection

Choosing the perfect slot for JEE (Main)

Don’t Get Stressed

Morning or afternoon slot plays vital role in your performance. Fundamentally, you must be knowing that the mind feels fresh in the morning hours. The thinking and analyzing capability is always higher in the morning. Overall, it is the best time to give your best shot. Remember, even if this would help you to solve just one extra question correctly. We are talking about a rank difference in hundreds to thousands. You have to give exam in the optimal state of time to deliver the best. The best from your capability means the best rank you can get in JEE (Main). However, morning or afternoon slot will not matter, if you train your body for the afternoon exam.

Those who are appearing just for JEE (Main) but are repeaters (not giving 12th board). The choice of date for you will depend on you only. As the date won’t matter for you. You might just feel relaxed from the exam pressure if you appear early. But, still if you need any suggestion, ask your query by the comment section below.

How to Prepare for JEE 2013 After Appearing for 12th Board:Part 1

Prepare for JEE 2013

Prepare for JEE 2013: Time to Work Harder

The restructuring of AIEEE and IIT JEE in 2013 is creating a lot of confusion among the minds of aspirants. It is very important to clear all the confusion. Read my article What is JEE 2013 to clear all your doubts.

Prepare for JEE 2013: Introduction

You should know that to prepare for JEE 2013, the time after 12th board is very precious. It should be utilized in the optimal way to get the best result. The time period is very short and its optimal utilization will guarantee the best rank that you are capable to achieve by giving your best shot. And, you have to give your best shot.

This time period of almost 70 days is going to decide your career’s fate. You will be among elite group of the society or average. All will depend on your performance in these 70 days. Hence, it is very important to take a systematic approach to maximize the chance of giving your best performance.

Prepare for JEE 2013: For Whom

I’m writing this article for those aspirants of JEE 2013 who are appearing for 12th board and afterwards planning to appear for both JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). This article will not address preparation for paper 2 of JEE (Main) or aptitude test of JEE (Advanced). It will be published in two parts; first part will be about preparation for JEE (Main). Second part will address JEE (Advanced) preparation. Keep almost 15-20 different sets of simulator tests for both JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). However, before going in detail please go through my article, Most Suitable date for JEE (Main) Online Test.

Prepare for JEE 2013: First Learn Concepts

Some years ago, I had written an article, How to prepare for IIT JEE. The article described three step for IIT JEE preparation. Even though a lot has changed since then in the format of JEE, still first two step are well enough for JEE (Advanced) preparation. I would suggest you go through the article.

I have always told the aspirants of JEE that you don’t need to prepare for the type of the questions asked. You just need to get yourself to the level of knowledge required for IIT JEE. Preparation for a particular type of question  could be done within 20 days.

IIT JEE always keeps changing. Since 2000 I am following it. Every next year there were few changes with respect to previous years. Level of question changed, pattern changed, type of questions changed. This year even the name changed to JEE (Advanced). But, style never changed. IIT always asks tricky questions. An IIT JEE aspirant of year 2000, can appear for the paper of year 2012 and get the same rank, just by preparing for not more than 10 + 20 days (10 days for going through major addition in the syllabus in 2003).

My point in all this is to get the knowledge of every portion of the syllabus before board exam. After board, just prepare for the question type asked in JEE both Main & Advanced. Any question whether, it is asked as subjective or objective is solved in the same way, just presentation of the answer differs. Hence, know how to solve any problem. Adapting according to the requirement of the presentation is not a hard task.

Prepare for JEE 2013: 12th Board is Over

Now, lets proceed to know how to be ready for JEE (Main) once 12th board exam is over. For JEE (Main) or AIEEE, I always feel it is an examination to test your speed rather than intelligence. There would be hardly any tricky questions that would be asked in its exam,. All would be formula based (or memory based). However, JEE (Advanced) or IIT JEE tests your intelligence rather than speed. Moreover, syllabus of JEE (Main) is almost same as that of 12th board. Hence, if someone has prepared well enough for 12th board, he/she could perform well in JEE (Main) after a preparation of 15-20 days.

As I have already told you through my article Most Suitable date for JEE (Main) Online Test, I feel JEE (Main) should be taken online rather than paper based and you should choose the most suitable slot to maximize your performance for both JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced).

Now, once your board exam is over, take a break of one day and do full-day-night fun. This will totally refresh your mind from the stress of 12th board exam. As per CBSE board, I think the last exam for science stream students would be on 23rd March. It is advised to keep a gap of 15 days between the last day of 12th board exam and JEE (Main) test date. I suggested 10th April, 2013 as the most suitable date to appear for JEE (Main). Hence, those who are going to appear for CBSE board would be getting around 15-16 days for preparation of JEE (Main). After refreshing your mind, we are going to use the simulator tests that I have asked you to collect. It would be better if at least 7-10 simulator tests are computer based.

Step 1 (4-5 day):

Now, initially you need to use the paper based tests. For the first 5 days, start solving the simulator test by using all books, notes and all other means available. But, don’t go through the solution before attempting and possibly solving all the problems. Once you attempted all the questions. Check your answers and if any answer went wrong even after using all possible means. Try to understand where was the problem. Time should not be a factor. However, complete one test in one day.

This process will not be an easy one. On the first 2-3 days, it will take away all the energy. But, if done with concentration and dedication. It will work like anything. If one would go through the questions asked by the AIEEE, one can understand that the questions asked by AIEEE are formula based and could be solved easily if formula is known. This step would help you to know and memorize the formula based on the questions which are being asked by AIEEE. Further, it will revise you the syllabus in accordance with JEE (Main) syllabus. You would know the method for approaching a particular type of problems asked. It would be best if you use past years question paper for this step as simulator test. This will benefit you in the best way, as you will learn, what is asked and exactly how to solve them.

Step 2 (6-7 days):

Once you completed step 1, you would be well versed with the question types asked in AIEEE and how to solve them. I expect it would be almost 10 days left for the JEE (Main).

In this step and next, you have to learn how to attempt the questions in a time bound manner. How to manage and approach the test to score maximum? Both speed and accuracy is important. For the next 9 days sit for the test in the same time schedule in which your JEE (Main) test is. It will help your body to get used to the schedule, so that you won’t fill any physical stress on the final day. It would be best if you attempt the tests on table and chair. I recommend to use the computer based test for both this and the final step. If you don’t have so much computer based tests. Last step should be totally using computer based tests. Rests should be used for this step, along with paper based tests.

For the first 6-7 days, solve the question in the stipulated time schedule. Once the test is over, calculate your marks. Now, take a break of around 1 hour. Afterwards, first try to solve incorrect answers and try to figure out, where you made the mistakes. Next, try to solve the unattempted questions. If you gave the test in first half, then try to solve the unattempted and incorrect ones by the end of the day. If you solve it in second half, try to do so by the next day first half. If you need to refer some books or notes, do so. This whole process will improve your latency and no. of questions attempted.

Step 3 (3 days):

Till now, you would be totally stressed with the heavy workout, I suggested in the first two steps. Now, for the last 3 days, you need to give relaxation to your mind. Out of these 3 days, for the first 2 days, solve the test in the normal schedule as per your JEE (Main) timing. Check your score. But, no need to do the whole other workouts. Its time to relax. Watch TV. Play some games. If you want, for an hour or so, revise the formulas and other things which needs to memorized. But, take no stress. All of us commit errors while solving. However, it is minimized if the stress on the mind is less. The success rate of your attempted questions, makes a huge difference in the score.

I prefer the last day before the exam to be free from any study. Don’t worry. If you don’t solve the test for one day, it will not deteriorate your score. But, it will give your mind some peace. You may spend some time to memorize the formulas. Don’t spend time just watching movies or TVs or just playing games. As doing one thing for long hours will give stress to your mind. Go meet your friends. Spend some time with them. Eat healthy food and sleep at usual time.

On the final day. I expect you will be fully ready to appear for JEE (Main) and give your best shot.
